Germany 1956 – Compact – 35 mm – Rare.

Voigtlander’s Vitessa foldable rangefinders are some of the prettiest 35 mm film cameras ever made. Those are cameras that you notice and hardly forget.

The distinctive angular design with the lens that pops out of a double flap opening makes it a one of a kind. Also very unique is the long cocking rod that sticks out of the camera. The Vitessa does not have a cocking lever, but this very long rod that advances the film one frame and cocks the shutter in one operation.

This rod is fortunately retractable as soon as the front flaps are closed.
