Latvia 1938 – Spy Camera – Minox film – Very Rare.

Invented in 1936, the Minox camera soared to fame when James Bond (played by George Lazenby) wielded a Minox A IIIs in the 1969 film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”

The initial Riga iterations of the Minox sported a stainless steel casing, later transitioned to aluminum. Renowned for its compact dimensions and macro focusing capability, the Minox was the favored tool for intelligence agencies and spies worldwide until the 1960s. A 1942 public record details the US Office of Strategic Services purchasing 25 Minox cameras.

Its premium cost positioned it as a luxury gadget, maintaining its cutting-edge status well into the 1980s.
