Germany 1959 – Compact – 16 mm – Rare.

The Goldeck 16 was manufactured by Goldammer of Germany in 1959.

It is a beautiful, well built and very interesting camera. The most notable external feature is the large lever that both loads the shutter and advances the film in one simple movement.

The size and proportions of the Goldeck are unusual and puzzling. Especially if you consider that it is using a custom 16 mm film while being roughly the size of a 35 mm camera. The choice of such film format remains a mystery.

The Goldeck was produced for about a year and Goldammer terminated it’s activities in the early 60s, making it a quite rare and beautiful collectible
